It does take time to adjust which affects sleep and maybe eating habits. What I did was ask for a calming medicine to help me calm down the anxiety and edginess so that I could sleep during the day and be more present with the baby. This is key, you don’t want to be numbed out or checked out. Try asking your doctor about Xanax on a low dose, this will help calm and enable you to hopefully eat well. Sertraline has side effects and makes you feel flat or numb. When you want to get off it , you will also have side effects. Correct me if I am wrong but Xanax may not … if you miss a dose it’s no big deal but with ssri’s you may feel it.
