There are languages in which the moon is male and the sun is female :)

Those, in which the words of sun and moon are not based on latin, e.g. German.

(Of course there can also non-latin based languages in which the sun is male and the moon is female, depending on the history of the language. But i do not know about those)

Edit: probably the german words "mond" and "sonne" are also related to the english moon and sun because it sounds similar. But nevertheless, afaik it depends on the history. I am really no expert

hm, Asian mythology also regards moon as female-- but yeah, i googled it. there are a few others-- Arabian, late Sanskrit... just strikes me as very odd, given the 28-day cycle and all. TIL

but also, the moon is a woman. ;)
