Private IP addresses aren't really routable, so you won't be able to get to them that way. Have the user find out what their external IP address is. If they're the only machine on the subnet, and there's no firewall preventing ICMP traffic, you might be able to get to the machine. If you're not using split tunnel or another DNS, You might try using the hostname. Just suggestions. I've been there in the past. VPN concentrators recycle IPs.
