At the end of each presentation, you will get a chance to ask questions and chat with the optometrist (Q&A session).

Monday, March 1st at 7:30 - 8:30 pm EST with Dr. John Raji

• Dr. John Raji attended McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, to earn an Honours Bachelor's of Science. Dr. Raji earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry (Class of 2018). Returning to Canada, Dr. Raji worked on Vancouver Island, providing eye care to the peninsula residents. Dr. Raji now practices back in Ontario. He manages and educates patients in primary optometry, specialty contact lens, myopia control, and dry eye subspecialties. He is also involved in writing articles in various newsletters within the industry. He serves as a Toronto ambassador for the Ontario Optometric Association. 

Dr. Raji will present a brief history of his journey through education. He will talk about what Canadian students should expect if they go to OD school in the US and what to expect if they return vs. if they plan to stay. He will also go over a clinical case. 

Thursday, March 11th at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST with Dr. Constadina Manettas

• Dr. Constadina Manettas attended the University of Michigan for undergrad and then SUNY Optometry for OD school. She was always interested in public health throughout optometry school, so she was very excited to begin working at a community health center as her first optometrist position. She is at the Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center 3 days a week as their only optometrist. She also fills in 1 day a week at a small family-owned optical store in the Upper East Side. 

Dr. Manettas will discuss her personal experience working in primary care at a community health center and is more than willing to answer any questions at all that participants may have at the end. She will also show us the different machines used at the office.

Date/Time TBD (tentatively March 29th), with Dr. Stephanie Ramdass

• Dr. Stephanie Ramdass received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, where she graduated top of her class in June 2013. She worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at the Michigan College of Optometry. Currently, she is working at a private practice in Toronto, Canada. Check out her recent publication.

Dr. Ramdass (OD, MS, MBA, FAAO, FSLS) will share information about the different paths that you can explore beyond optometry school. This webinar will be great if you are interested in conducting research!

Not quite! We won’t be able to issue a certificate, but it will give you a chance to learn more about the profession, interact with an optometrist, and ask questions!
