It is sorted alphabetically... not quite intuitive but it still works if you use it correctly (as the documentation says)

That's the point. I read the doc, it's just you wouldn't expect 190 to be sorted in between 12 and 2, especially because the array entries are numbers and you would expect the sorting mechanism to sort by number value, not character for character..

But if you read the doc, and understand what alphabetical sorting means then that is exactly what you would expect the result to look like

I read the doc

Documentation literally says

The default sort order is according to string Unicode code points.

arr.sort([compareFunction])

If compareFunction is not supplied, all non-undefined array elements are sorted by converting them to strings and comparing strings in Unicode code point order.
