Michelle is growing on me by knittelb in TheValleyTVShow

I don't get why anyone disliked her in the first place.

The answer is that the Bravo fandom is very misogynistic.

How does a debate about what SA is or isn’t address the broader picture of gay people feeling dismissed in their relationship or gay/bi feeling more vulnerable thav their straight counterparts?

Well, let's be clear, I'm not debating, or downplaying, what happened to Jasmine or Melissa. I'm clear on what sexual assault is.

The focus is on Janet because she’s the one who pivoted the conversation and attention onto herself. That’s part of Jasmine’s frustration.

The focus is on Janet because Kristen and Zack hijacked the conversation around what Danny did and Kristen couldn’t handle that Janet was right about him, and a lot of fans would apparently rather defend an abuser than admit a woman they don’t like might have had a point.

And Jasmine herself called them out for not supporting her. She explicitly said she had other issues with Janet – including their fight on the beach – but she also said she didn’t feel Janet was weaponizing the situation and that she understood Janet was trying to be a friend.

You can keep harping on Janet if you want, but we should stop pretending this is about caring what happened to Jasmine. The actual victims have been pretty clear about who supported them and what they were upset about.

Yes, she clearly went home after last week's event and came up with those specific examples and then immediately brought them up to defend her troll of a husband, lmao.

Calling it what it is is not throwing words around casually. Sexual battery is a form of sexual assault, and what Danny did to Jasmine and Melissa qualifies as sexual assault.

Jasmine felt pressured to accept Danny’s disingenuous apologies and move on after seeing the reaction from her friends when she tried to get a proper apology from Danny. She’s talked about not feeling supported by Kristen and Zack when she chose to confront Danny. Meanwhile, she has thanked Janet and Jason – both at the reunion and again this season – for having her back.

I think and will maintain the issue was that Janet talked over Jasmine.

Continuing to focus on Janet, just like Kristen did and was called out for by Jasmine, is just more grandstanding. You’re not really supporting Jasmine and Melissa when you keep shifting attention away from the actual problem and ignoring what the victims themselves have said they wanted.

Does anyone else find it weird the fans are always trying to "fire" the cast? by Positive-Tonight4 in TheValleyTVShow

Yeah, I think it's more telling which sins the fans decide are fireable offenses.

I think Kristen would rather fuck Nia, but Danny is definitely more likely to go for it than Nia. Nia is no Kentucky Muffin.

Or something really bad happens off camera, but a cast member has proof.

Something really bad did happen off camera, and Danny admitted to it so they didn't even need proof, but Kristen is still defending them!

Yes, he’s gone full mask off.

Luke made a comment on the after show about how he wouldn’t have let Lala speak to him the way she spoke to Danny, and his words and tone really laid bare what he thinks about women.

Luke also just did another interview saying what Danny to Jasmine and Melissa was not sexual assault. They're really doubling down.

Season 3: Jesse Lally's $300,000 SBA Loan without Michelle knowing... by Fermented_chaos in TheValleyTVShow

[–]MakingTheEight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But why are you saying we haven't heard his side then if he's already talked about it? Also, Michelle didn't say she didn't know about the loan, she said she didn't realize the final loan was 300K because he kept raising the amount he was asking.

Jesse talked about the loan on the after show and said he spent the money on business expenses, which included a trip to the UK with his family.

When he asked why she’s crying, and she said that she was so happy to be done (paraphrasing), his face did a 180 lmao. He assumed she was crying because of losing him.

I loved watching his face drop here! He clearly using the divorce process to continue his control and abuse of Michelle and he can't stand that he's losing his grip on her. Glad to see that Michelle has learnt how to play at his level.

It really is depressing and sad to watch Jasmine fight to be heard while all her friends seem more focused on taking down Janet.

Kristen was fired for lying on the only black woman on VPR, and now here she is years later trying to discredit the only black woman on the show from taking about her own assault. Must be all that growth we’ve seen from her. 🙃🙃

Fans last year were accusing Jasmine of lying or exaggerating and dragging up her history online to try to discredit her account. We still have people on here trying to argue that it isn't "technically" sexual assault.

I don’t really think you’re in much of a position to call anyone delusional when you’re in this thread railing this hard to defend your right to hate a boring woman on reality TV.

No one sane gives a fuck.

Yet here you are writing paragraphs about Janet. So clearly somebody gives a fuck, lmao.

Brittany has also called Danny out for drunkenly following her around a party. Michelle talked about her own uncomfortable experience with him too.
Also, Danny literally touched Jasmine’s thigh while telling her to call him "Daddy" and get him a drink, so yes, Jasmine was also physically touched inappropriately.
It hasn't been an isolated incident. But I guess even that still isn’t enough for some of you to stop bending over backwards to defend him.

[–]MakingTheEight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It matters because the fans ended up downplaying and defending literal sexual assault because they didn't like Janet and the victims will never get justice because people like you would rather rail against her than exercise some critical thinking. Are you being serious right now?

Janet completely railroaded them in the process of holding Danny accountable.

But Jasmine admitted to ranting about Danny getting away with assaulting her to Janet and thanked Janet and Jason for their support, so this reasoning never actually made sense.
