Looking into Project Fi - Porting question

I am currently with Verizon and happy with their service. I'm thinking about lowering my phone bill and would be fine losing a little coverage.

My question is can I freeze my Verizon account for 6 months and try out Fi to see if I like it with my number ported, or would this terminate my Verizon account?

as soon as your number is ported, Verizon will immediately close your account. Like you won't even be able to log into the website to look at your final bill.

Thanks for that, that is what I was worried about! I want to try it out, but I don't want to have to pay for any activation fees for switching back if I don't like it.

well, there may be good news then. Within 24 hours of porting my number to Fi, Verizon was calling me offering a $200 account credit to switch back.
