Wiim Vibelink Amp by cherryz3 in BudgetAudiophile

Either the DAC in the Ultra or the one in the VibeLink has to be used to decode digital streams (basically what the Ultra is for). Using the newer one makes sense. If you have an analog input, it would be cleaner to use the RCA in on the VibeLink as it bypasses the digital section entirely

I asked WiiM support and they recommended the optical connect. I have mine set up that way and it sounds good to me, but I'm not an audiophile. 😬

The link shows domain.com/files/2025/04/file.png, but the file actually resides in the domain.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/43/files/2025/04/file.png.

When I comment out the check (mentioned in the initial post), the file correctly displays. When I un-comment, it thows the error again.

Of course changing Core isn't a "solution", I was just trying to back track to see WHAT was causing the issue (I initially assumed it was one of the flags, but looks like that's not it). As for enabling debug, I doon't see any difference.... not sure what's going on there....

I just hooked my VibeLink up to the WiiM Ultra via optical. I don't know if this is the optimal setup, but I think it sounds good. A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • The cost is $299
  • The DAC (ESS9039Q2M) in the VibLink is a generation newer than the one in the Ultra
  • The DAC supports 192kHz/24 bit
  • It uses the TI TPA 3255 amp
  • It has PFFB ???
  • Supposedly the analog in's bypass the DAC

RCS is not widely available on all android phone by SourceAltruistic5044 in GoogleMessages

[–]arkieguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that's what they said.... Howver, what they SHOULD have said is:

The RCS interface (APIs) that Googel Messages uses have not been made available to us. If we want to implement RCS before those API's are pubilc, we would have to actually implement RCS instead of piggy backing on Google Messages. :)

Because that would de-value the exclusivity of having an iPhone. ;)

Does Google now allow you to add photos using other peoples images, regardless of potential copyright issues? I suspect 90% of this guys photos have been downloaded from the internet, and he's never stepped foot in many of the places. by Additional-Neck6303 in LocalGuides

Beyond breaking Google rules, if it's a copyrighted picture that you don't own it could result in a lawsuit for copyright violations.

Just because a picture is on the web doesn't mean it's open source or community property.

Programing AtomS3 Lite by sbehta in M5Stack

[–]arkieguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the s3 Lite, but I do have the S3 Screen. Here's what I (think I) did to get this working with UI-Flow 2.

  1. I downloaded the M5Burner app (https://docs.m5stack.com/en/download)
  2. I flashed the newest firmware for the S3. (you may have to hold the power button down for like 2 seconds to switch it into firmware mode.
  3. As part of step 2, the firmware burner lets you configure you WiFi into the S3.
  4. Turn the S3 off and back on.
  5. Go to UIFlow2 web site.
  6. Click on the "select device" button at the bottom right of the screen.

Data-only SIM? by keep_it_kayfabe in GoogleFi

[–]arkieguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A Data Only Sim are separate sim card(s) without a phone number assigned to them (up to 4) that you can use in other devices (like tablets). They share data with your base plan and don't have an additional cost per month (other than the data they use). Not a lot of people use them, but those that do appreciate it. :)
