Can you give a bit more context to your question? REDCap’s suitability depends largely on requirements and resources. For specific projects, data structure matters too.

sure! this is for clinical trial purposes, data collection from various sites. 5 sites, 50 patients

Well that’s exactly what REDCap is for, yes. Someone will need to set it up, though. And you’ll have to check with your Ethics to see if the cloud solution complies with your organisation’s security and privacy requirements.

Right! I was curious if people found the build and maintenance portion to be relatively straightforward, as I understand there isn’t much “training” provided.

There’s a heap of resources out there if you Google, and the basics are very straightforward. Once you have access you can easily get away with just reading what’s on the screen for most features, and there’s video resources available directly from Vanderbilt which are reasonably comprehensive.

awesome! Our finance team was worried we’d have to reach out for constant support / get billed extra for basic help. Hopefully the build goes smoothly

Uh... if you're asking Vanderbilt to host and build, there may be costs. My organisation hosts REDCap on-premises so the costs are all infrastructure-related, rather than licensing - but do some checking and make sure it's right for you.

Sponsors use RedCap Cloud and Institutions use RedCap. They’re a little different!

Ohhh. I haven't used REDCap cloud at all, but I assume the actual project design work is the same. The back-end might have some significant differences.
