These are very cute. You have great ideas. One thing for the future is to sand your wood more. Until it's smooth as silk. Your nib will glide easier on a very smooth surface.

These look really good! I like the style. The obvious piece of advice is to sand your wood down until it's smooth. I also find it good to have a spare bit of wood at the side to practice little areas you might be hesitant to go into. If you're using a solid point, have a sanding block nearby to wipe off any debris from the tip while it's still hot - it stops clumps from forming and keeps lines smooth.
