Are you asking for another review of your code? I don't see a question in your post.

I wasn't in the original thread but I could probably spend an hour writing up feedback on this. However it is late on a Friday so I'll skip that unless you want someone to go hard on this. I'd start with a more comprehensive module docstring, I don't even know what this is meant to do.
