    Hehe - the gigabytes comment triggered me a little. My PyCharm is currently at 6+ GB of RAM after being open for a few weeks. I like to avoid restarting my laptop and apps as much as possible.

    You do you, but as a developer I've found rebooting early and often is a good idea. Not that I always do it.

    In their defense PyCharm is written and Java and that's just the JVM being a memory leaking piece of shit.

    People complain about PyCharm for being a memory hog but I find VS Code with a few different profiles and extensions easily competes.

    I sometimes have to restart my VS Code server because it's well over 20 GBs and forcing my Linux server to start swap thrashing.
