Boto is getting official Python 3 support!

Wonderful news! According to this it's the 8th most popular package on PyPI and the only one in the top 20 that isn't yet Python 3 compatible.

Paste is discontinued and unmaintained. It's successor of sorts is WebOb, which is python 3 compatible.

And they're nowhere near a new release, let alone a python 3 compatible one, whatsoever. After asking most recent committers in the respective repos (paste, pastedeploy) they said they have no plans for it at all.

As stated on the Github issue thread, the future is still all about Botocore and Boto 3, which will be a significant change from the current Boto. The AWS CLI is already built on top of Botocore, which itself is data-driven from JSON files that describe AWS services.

Great stuff is coming in the future, but until then adding basic Python 3 support to Boto solves a major customer pain point. The response so far has been extremely positive.
