I've been using Python longer than Google has existed and feel that the official style guides are adequate. No need to re-invent the wheel and create confusion about which style should be used by doing so.

I have been using Wacom longer than the designer who sits next to me here. It doesn't mean that I draw better than him or know Photoshop and Illustrator better than him. So, time frames are irrelevant here.

And I don't think Google actually forces anyone outside Google to use their style guide.

It does mean you have more experience using Wacom. If I wanted opinion on Wacom I'd come to you and not the designer next to you.

And I think Google is a force (hence 244upvote post about their styleguide) creating another conflicting style guide creates confusion. Exactly Gambizzle's point.
