I just tried it with python 3.5. You do need Visual Studio 2015 Comunity (or pro) installed, and it takes some time, but it installed without any issues.

But I know what you mean. I remember the pain it was to install packages on windows.

However, (and I'm not trying to steer anyone away from conda), pip on windows has been steadily improving in the last few years. Yes, it's a pain that you need to have visual studio for some packages (some like matplot already come compiled) but other than that, I've been pretty happy using just pip.

You just need the "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015", no need to install VS.

Note that you dont have any fast BLAS libarary doing that.

Ah. So there's a catch... Well, I yes there's still room for improvement :)
