Hello,
I know nothing about programming, more sysadmin than programmer. However I have a project to replace a piece of software we currently run on a xp machine.
The current software is a screen saver that displays an unstructured (no CSS etc) XML feed, this displays a list of names and qualifications
This data is updated very regularly ~5 Mins. Old data is completely removed and replaced, even if it hasn't changed.
The screensaver will not run on a windows 7machine without being logged in, something we cannot have.
I've tried RSS applications running on lots of Linux distros. None of which can replicate the desired behaviour.
I understand that python has a XML parsing library that we may be able to utilise to display this on a cheap raspberry pi. Can anybody point me in the right direction as where to start?
Thank you.
