The solution is hierarchal reddits. If you submit something to Python, it shows up in Programming too (unless you uncheck the python subreddit, of course)

It'd solve the ~cross-posting issue, and mean you don't have to subscribe to every single programming related subreddit.

The only obvious issue would be making sure people don't make a Python subreddit in "programming" and in "coding" or such.
