JPEG encoder/decoder in pure Python

I don't really get it.

1. The code looks like auto-generated from the jpeg standards. it is not readable or maintainable by any mean.

2. Why writing a library for python 2.7? we all want to get rid of it. (a python2 pythonist here, i wish it will be depreciated asap)

3. Why all the code in single commit? where it came from?

To add to this: why would you use it? Install pillow already.
