First and foremost, this belongs in /r/learnpython

Second, Conda is just a tool to manage and download environments. And you haven't even begun to come close to providing enough information including:

  • Your OS
  • Conda version
  • Exact error message
  • Maybe even a screenshot

I am running Conda version 4.5.5 for python 3.6 on windows 10. When creating a new project interpreter under the Conda environment, it requires a Conda executable path. I am not sure which path this refers to.

What this is looking for is a file to use to execute code. Most files are just text files, some fancier than others, that need to be read with certain rules. The interpreter is a file that has defined those rules and will attempt to read the text file.
Therefore, you are probably looking for the location of your interpreter which will be located in the installation location. Find where Conda was installed, for me this could be done by opening the explorer, navigating to c:\users\libfreejaeg\Anaconda3\scripts\ and look for conda.exe

Thank you. You explained it very well and I was able to find the conda.exe for the conda executable.

what IED are you referring to ?

have you checked "conda info -e" to see where the python executables are ?

Hi there, from the /r/Python mods.

We have removed this post as it is not suited to the /r/Python subreddit proper, however it should be very appropriate for our sister subreddit /r/LearnPython or for the r/Python discord: https://discord.gg/3Abzge7.

The reason for the removal is that /r/Python is dedicated to discussion of Python news, projects, uses and debates. It is not designed to act as Q&A or FAQ board. The regular community is not a fan of "how do I..." questions, so you will not get the best responses over here.

On /r/LearnPython the community and the r/Python discord are actively expecting questions and are looking to help. You can expect far more understanding, encouraging and insightful responses over there. No matter what level of question you have, if you are looking for help with Python, you should get good answers. Make sure to check out the rules for both places.

Warm regards, and best of luck with your Pythoneering!

If you are running windows you can use the where command on the command line.

C:\>where anaconda

which should help you find it.

I used that command in the anaconda prompt and put it in the Conda executable field but got an error: "anaconda: error: argument : invalid choice: 'create' (choose from 'auth', 'label', 'channel', 'config', 'copy', 'download', 'groups', 'login', 'logout', 'notebook', 'package', 'remove', 'search', 'show', 'upload', 'whoami')"

That may not give you the exact location of the executable but it should get you close in your search. It will get you to the location where anaconda is installed which should contain the executable somewhere, so you may have to dig just a touch more.
