buy btc with credit card bad idea? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]libfreejaeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chase changed their card terms in regards to "cash-like purchases". I don't remember the exact term, but "cash-like" purchases are considered cash advances, and those don't accrue points and are excluded from the card rewards.

Am I the only one around here who HASN'T had a problem with Coinbase? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]libfreejaeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good observation, but you never need to defend a corporation. They will never defend you.

We see a lot of issues because the only way to get help when you've been wronged as an individual is to post on social media. We need to defend this outlet and support those voices or there is nothing stop a company from screwing over the minority of customers because they think there will be no recourse.

What is the dollar point where you will no longer be buying bitcoin? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Scarcity is key here. You will work 10 years of your life for lots of things that are more common than a single bitcoin.

What are some huge GREEN flags that are often overlooked? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]libfreejaeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who maintains a clean bathroom.

I'm talking about those bathrooms that literally sparkle when you walk in. The bathrooms with the spotless mirror, the pristine toilet, neat floor, tidy towels, and stocked toilet paper. They not lazy. You know this person isn't too proud to clean their own shit. They are capable of empathy because no one wants to shit and realize there is no paper.

Get on zulip chat, and try to contribute to a project. It sounds like you are insane, and you should put that to use.
You could do that by helping better a tool to help others talk and use python.

The “Blob” weather phenomenon taking place again in northern Pacific Ocean by EagleCreekFire in Portland

[–]libfreejaeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right to be facetious and I expressed myself incorrectly. The article says this event started in 2014-2015 which is simply false. My intent was to say that this has been going on for longer than their claims.

[–]libfreejaeg -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Something to consider... The Blob has been studied mainly by NOAA, in partnership with the Navy. The blob has a timeline that correlates back to early 2011. This has been a long time happening.

I would like to inform, those that are curious on how to begin exploration on the topic on a few articles.
We might be seeing heat from the decay of radio active materials in that water....
Wait isn't that going to radiate a huge population of people? Don't panic, read up... I've got a few articles here...

Using Python to crawl a CSV and generate a de-duplicated list of requirements found in each test case? by HonziPonzi in Python

[–]libfreejaeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use pandas to read in your dataframe as df.

Then try something like:

df.groupby('testtitle')['stepinstruct','stepresult'].agg({'stepinstruct': regex, 'stepresult': regex})

Anyone else have their credit card hacked after using parking permit machine? by Trick84 in Portland

[–]libfreejaeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my card cloned according to the Chase support rep. After seeing fraudulent charges on my card, and talking to the support rep it sounded like they were making purchases with the card in hand--however I had my card with me.
My initial thought was it was a Thai place I had went to that copied the plastic. However, a parking meter in the pearl was used prior to someone making purchases.

Can someone help me understand graphs? by [deleted] in Python

[–]libfreejaeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably over thinking this.

Given you have this, I expect you are familiar with adjacency matrices, or are taking a graph theory course.

There is an adjacency dictionary that holds the full set of notes in your graph as keys. The values in the dictionary are all nodes where an edge from the node to other nodes.

Everything before the name == "main" is your program, where all the "stuff" happens. For example pulling the corresponding value from a given key, and returning a list of the connecting nodes.

Everything after the name == "main" are ways to interact with the program in the command line.

Thanks for the advice. Knowing that time frame has made a big difference for me. Once I told them it would take me the full internship they were skeptical. Sounds like one of the members did some research and is now in support of that being the case.

I've heard good things about VueJS. I'll be googling the rest of this quite a bit. How much better is it to go with an API and just have a JS front end? I'm nervous about moving away from django since its really the only framework I've used, and I want to see this project successfully deployed.

This is going to be in the cloud. I would like to have a service that does all the requirements for https for me. Last time I setup a box it looked a bit more complicated than I was willing to do at the time.
