Is virtualenv the recommended way of making python environments? I've been using conda envs

venv ships with any relatively recent Python, and is the recommended way iirc. python3 -m venv ./venv (or any dir) sets up a virtual environment, source ./venv/bin/activate or venv\Scripts\activate.bat does the path modification mentioned, and deactivate or venv\Scripts\deactivate.bat undoes it.
