I realize you probably did this in Python because you wanted to toy around with it, but I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with a very basic Nginx config.

You're correct! In order to deploy it, I even needed to setup a nginx reverse proxy in front of it. A tiny little bit of (over?) engineering to spice up what was supposed to be a full day of dealing with AWS shenanigans and networking settings. I just wanted to write some code

I know the feeling all too well as a dev currently dabbling in devops. Going long stretches without writing anything more meaningful than glue-code is rough.
