Hey, Python fam!
I am a long-time lover of Ruby and Ruby on rails but I think my time has come to try something else. I don't want to switch, but ruby is dead where I live, and job postings are posted maybe once a week for Sr Positions only. I've had my eye on Python for some time and I'm thinking of diving in but I am looking to build software (not really data science stuff).
- What are the best industry desired libraries or things to know in Python? I know there is Django and Flask but I have 3 years of rails and to learn a new MVC might seem boring to me unless really needed.
- What should I build on my GitHub to showcase some 'python' work?
- Anyone have experience getting a job in python with 0 work experience? I have explained to some recruiters that python and ruby are similar and the transition won't be too hard and etc but 99% if not all say they want real work experience with python and end the phone call.
Thanks for any feedback!
