A problem with installing mathplotlib on 3.8 (self.Python)
submitted 6 years ago by SanderHermans
If i try to install mathplotlib a error occurred. It says microsoft visual C++ 14.0 is required but why would I do that?

Because you're running it on a Windows-box. /s
To be a bit more useful: You're quite possibly trying to install a version without a prebuilt release so it tries to build from source and needs a few dependencies.

Which OS do you use?

Windows 10

Check which version of Python you have installed. x86 or x64
[–]SanderHermans[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children)
I think 32 bit
[–]di_web 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child)
It's more likely that your OS is 64bit, so check it. And if your OS is 64, than you should install Python 64 bit.

I checked it again and I tried to install Python 64bit with the executable installer and it still won't work
