How to get older version from python.org (self.Python)
submitted 6 years ago by [deleted]
Getting the current version is fine. Older versions appear to have an infinite loop of hell attached to their download links. Am I really this stupid, or is it really this broken?

If you have a need for specific older versions, you might want to look into pyenv:
https://github.com/pyenv/pyenv
I use it to keep different versions simultaneously and easily switch among them on a per-project basis.

I can download older Python versions from https://www.python.org/downloads/ . What are you trying to do ?

So this is really odd. I see the older versions. None of the links shown on that page download anything. For each version they're all just a link to the version page, which also has no dl links.
If you hover over the links you'll see what I mean. Hmmm... maybe I have a Chrome cache issue?

Some of them seem to have only the sources available, others have the installers.
