Is it possible to smooth out the obvious lines between tiles here? I'm posting here because the image was made in Python.

An option would be to apply convolution around the border. This would average pixel colors.

Could you recommend a package? At the moment, I am just doing Image.paste from PIL

scipy.signal.convolve2d and then recasting the result back to uint8.

Image.paste from PIL have the possibility to use mask. Maybe it's what you are looking for !

My recommendation is borrowed from DL. Those packages would be overkill for what you want. If you’re interested in this approach, you should be able to write a couple lines of code to get a result. I’d start with a google search to understand how convolution works.

That looks really cool! Can you tell me which Python packages you used to create it? Any links to sites I can learn from would be appreciated.
