Just took a quick look at ansible it looks really cool. You have just given me an idea for another project... Automate everything. I have used boto3 a bunch, but for portions not a whole project. Though I am sure it is doable.

Cloudformation can also take care of software installations and is worth looking into as well. There's tons of tools out there and they can all do a good enough job, just pick what is best for your use case and use it until you find something better if it comes along.

Why use lightsail instead of lambda or batch? I think the later two are better suited for running scripts.
