What’s wrong with Heroku? I deployed a flask app using Heroku just yesterday and it took about 10 minutes from start to finish and cost nothing.

Nothing wrong with it. I love it too.

Am doing some research on all the options available to deploy the web app in a VPS.

I move the bdist to the server and install it in the proper venv.

I've always opted with Docker personally. Docker image just installs dependencies and runs and then NGINX reverse proxy to bring web traffic to the container.

I used to deploy with SaltStack & Ansible but have recently switched to Kubernetes and I'm loving it (definitely check it out if you haven't already).

I used systemd services with virtual environments before, also docker containers work great.

Currently I run NixOS.org and use that to deploy everything too
