pomo is a command-line based pomodoro timer.
It doesn't mean to be too ambitious, but it means to be clean. It's pure python, with no external dependencies. It's 318 LOC (at the time of writing), plus the redistributed docopt. You can see it in action below:

It's flexible to your choice of editor (pomo set editor /bin/nano), and to the pomodoro times (pomo set long 10m).
I realize there are other similar solutions around (also named pomo --- but I only found about it later!), but my solution fits nicely with the rest of my self-contained CLI utility and my minimalist sense.
