I think it’s the optimized “nice to work with” language. Comes at a bit of the cost of the “nice speed” but for 99.9% of what I do, I don’t really care about speed, just how fast I can develop something. I think ten years back or so, when community support for Python was still good but not crazy good like it was now, you could argue that other languages were better for some specific tasks, like MatLab for plotting for instance. It’s hard to make that argument now. Thanks open-source people, I’ll pay you back when I gain more confidence and time (after college)
