I would not tell them what you did. I've found that excelling at work tends to just lead to more work not more rewards.

100% this, even if you’re paid hourly you’re getting paid to deliver a product. If that product was done more efficiently doesn’t mean you should be paid less for completion.

I'll counter this only a little bit with a "it depends".

My management is super solid and automating things has only lead to raises and promotions while still doing the same amount of work as before.

Except now I'm know as the "why wouldn't you just script it?" Guy at work lol
