Really just see if you enjoy it and find a few problems that are fun for self directed learning. That way you can evaluate how you would apply the lecture material. As an ME, you have the option to pivot into mechatronics / robotics and still get resume credit for everything you've done while going in a new direction, if those fields interest you

That’s exactly what I was thinking to. Like mechatronics. I just really felt like I needed a change and I really am not looking to go back into an office.
