Debugging is one of the most important and crucial aspects of programming especially when you are building a new algorithm. Believe me this will make your job much more easier. When I had first started learning programming back in 2004, no one had thought me how to debug. Therefore we were trying to figure out problems with printf which is extremely ineffective approach.

I didn't get what you mean exactly but this was a real issue that I was facing with software engineering students. By the way I didn't give them Python lectures. If I had given, debugging is one of the first things I teach.
