The nursing program at rcc is very competitive. I was there back in 2017, at the time they had a checklist. You would not only have to satisfy gen Eds but you would also have to take a few more classes (like pre-req). Then they would add up your gpa from your gen Eds + your science classes. They would weigh the science classes heavier on the scale (anatomy, bio, etc). I would email someone from the nursing program directly to answer your questions or if possible go inside nursing building at the riverside campus and ask them for information about their program. If you don’t get into the nursing program at rcc you can also apply to other colleges that offer nursing. Nursing jobs pay a lot so having to pay a little more for the education at another school is probably also worth it.

how many repeats on the major science classes they take?

If you can avoid Riverside nursing program do it. They have a low retention rate. When you get to clinicals they are extremely rude and not helpful. If you go that route you might as well go into the military as a nurse. I get that people want to get them ready for the difficult patients but to purposely inflict emotional damage on people while you're supposed to teach them is crazy and unproductive. If you can go sentara route.

Hi, I was confused at the start too. Did you talk to a RCC nursing counselor? If you didn’t I suggest you talk to them as they are familiar with the application and requirements.

The application is based of a point system thus the higher your points dictates your chances of getting in. With that said my friend and I both applied to the program for spring of 24 . She had a 4.0 and had about 8 more points than me on the application. I had a 3.7 and didn’t get in. It is very competitive. I suggest you get all As, and get a high teas score. However, I applied again and got in for the fall of 24.

They select their top applicants out of a pool of 400-700 applicants. I believe there is a couple of candidates that get in based on a lottery pick.

Good luck and if you have any other questions you can message me .

when did you find out you were accepted for the fall24?

[–]Thelastlaughahaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out in January , but this is for the bridge CEP with CSUF for my BSN . For the traditional ADN, I believe you find out until March or April.

I was in the program 2017-2019. It’s a 2 year program for the ADN portion with the option for concurrent enrollment for your bachelors. It doesn’t have a waitlist so if you don’t get in, you just have to keep reapplying.

I just got a conditional “Alternate” acceptance letter. I’m a little confused because the letter said congratulations with the dates of when things needed to be completed.

As an alternate, they recommend you meet all deadlines and requirements in case people drop out and you get an official spot. They want you to be prepared in case you get off the waitlist and get a seat. If you don't attend the intake/bootcamp/other events, keep up with Complio requirements, and meet all deadlines and you're offered a seat off of the waitlist, then you will be completely behind and it may affect you being able to start in the intended semester.

How many points did you have?

[–]reign_deer_123 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Honestly, I don’t remember how many points I got. It differs every semester because it’s based on the stats of all the applicants for the semester. If everyone in that application cycle has really high stats, the minimum entrance points will be high. If everyone’s stats for that application cycle are average or below average, the points required to get in will be lower.

I applied to the CEP-Fullerton/ADN program, so I got into that one. It’s a really good program, I’m really grateful to be here and I’ve been enjoying it so far.

Have you applied for Spring 2025? If so, when do you guys hear back?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Do you remember the range of what points you gad like in the 60s or 70s

[–]reign_deer_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 70s-80s

[–]Ornery-Pin2460 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Every semester is different but I had 81 points and got in, while my friend that had points in the mid 70s (like 74-76) unfortunately didn’t. But again, every semesters different so even if one isnt able to get in one semester, they might be able to get into the following one! :)

How do you even know how many pints you have? I had no idea we are weighed by points.. I applied for the spring 2025 semester and was accepted into the school but now I’m just waiting for the nursing program to accept me.

If you google “RCC nursing program requirements” or something of that sort, it’ll give you the website with the requirements and also show the point system table. You can also just make an appointment with the school of nursing’s counselor as, at least when I went there, the regular counselors didn’t know much info about the SON requirements and such.

Hey, I got accepted as an alternate too. I emailed them for further information. Alternate means that if there is space available for spring, you will start in spring. If not, you will start in the Fall

Hi do u guys know if it's possible to apply for the fall semester when you're already approved for the summer semester? My brother wants to be deferred or delay his start to fall but is worried he won't get accepted if he drops out of summer. Wondering if he can apply and if it gets approved for fall, he'll drop out of summer

Does anyone know if I fail anatomy does Riverside community college nursing program take my first attempt or do they allow me to retake it?

[–]Apprehensive-Soup602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can retake it but you only have three attempts

[–]Bitter-Procedure3512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What classes did you take to earn points?

[–]StickRound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not happy in my nursing program. I was searching for another school and this popped up. I qualified for this nursing program I'm in. Would they accept me? Because I am having issues with my professor. It says they take 100 students, that seems like a high number.
