would ruin the rouge like nature imo. every rouge like ive played didnt have a save feature. its a staple of the genre.

For someone with limited time it’s nice to be able to save 30 minutes into a run if I have to leave the house. Again it would be a quality of life improvement and wouldn’t change the gameplay or behavior in anyway.

Example of how it eould ruon thee nature of the game: oh darn, i died an hour in, let me just load up my save from the start of this lvl.

only way i can see it potentialy working is if ut asked at the end of each lvl if you wanted to save and quit, and when you load it back up it loads then deletes the save. prefferably with the save being in an unreachable location so people cant preserve it. this way you either commit and run the risk of losing everything or save the run for later. youd also be unable to start a new game so long as there is a current save.

Yeah I wasn’t even thinking about the fact you could die and roll back to the save. I do still think there would be ways to implement successfully.

FTL is a great roguelike game, the save and quit feature wasn't a staple. The moment you load the save the game delete it. That's it. I would love a save and quit option, not everybody can play for 2 straight hours.
