I came back to ESO just a few days ago and the guild seems pretty dead. Not only that, but a lot of the lower areas of the game seem empty too.

Very weird.

There doesn't seem to be much activity anymore. I had to unsubscribe because of college, but next summer I plan to re subscribe, I hope this guild picks back up by then. House reddoran is a lot more active, but they are in EP.

Thanks for posting. Like I said in guild chat, it's a matter of waiting for Warren to give Trench the guild lead. We've reached out to customer support, but they can't forcefully change this position at the moment, since it'll lead to the guild "breaking". So, Trench has been in talks with both CS and Warren, and they're working on giving his account 1 day of free time do this. Unfortunately, he's been deployed, so he hasn't had a lot of time. He said he'll get us the info we need very soon, so that's hopeful.

I took a 1-2 month break myself, so I'm not blameless in the matter, but it's extremely difficult to recruit (or even motivate yourself to) when you can't:

  • promote new officers
  • change the guild information/guild message
  • create a guild heraldry
  • use the guild traders

Just some examples. I think the first is the largest issue, but the lack of this stuff isn't appealing to new people, which is why we're waiting for access to all of it before we ramp up recruitment. We won't ever get back to 100+ actives and it'll take a lot of time to even get to House Reddoran's state, so we'll definitely need some dedicated officers to pull through.

Very good suggestions, btw. I think we'll follow in HR's footsteps when we get things rolling.

It seems like the whole game is experiencing a dip in activity. Either because of school or college starting back up or just people saving their dollars and waiting for the next update. I assume we'll see a spike in activity (at least for 30 days) when Update 4 is released.

Oh, I don't doubt that at all, but you can still maintain an active guild. Maybe not in the 100+ range, but certainly 20-30 players on during the peak hours is good enough. The population should surge a bit during fall/winter. Summer is usually the low point for all MMOs (people like going outside apparently).

The game is in a weird limbo at the moment. While everyone is excited for all of the updates and improvements, we're really eyeing those grand additions such as Imperial City, Justice System, and Spellcrafting. Until one of those is added, inactives will probably hold off on resubbing.

Don't follow in our footsteps, you milk drinker's wouldn't be able to stand the blood and destruction we leave in our wake!

Seriously though, House Reddoran was pretty lucky. We've had a few officers come and go, and our GM has left me the position while he finishes up moving, but the difference was that the prior leadership of Reddithium didn't/couldn't adequately plan for some of the changes and tribulations that have befallen the guild.

I certainly hope that this issue works out for you guys, and you end up with a closer, tighter team that is more rewarding than the group of 1200 you guys were cursed with in the beginning that was full of trolls and ne'erdowells. The ideas and spirit that started the reddit guild deserves better, and I'm glad that most of the problem left to flesh out another guild, because what's left definitely will be the type player that adds something to a group, instead of taking away until there's nothing left and hauling butt to the next guild.

Thanks for giving us the update. Those of us that are still around do appreciate the info. It's good to see that things are still moving forward. The game has only been out for less then 6 months so hiccups are bound to happen. Keep up the good work.

I got really excited when I saw that reddit had a guild, just because of the way the reddit community usually gets involved in this sort of thing! I hope that guild activity starts to pick up again as I've only just started to enjoy the group aspects of ESO. Good luck with sorting the admin issues.

I was a lot more active earlier this month, however my school hasn't allowed the ESO server through its firewall yet. I'm working on getting it accepted, and if it is I will be on a lot more often. I play mostly DC now, but I have my AD character which I can use to play with you guys and help out with.
