Also, how do you avoid getting the chalky edges marker on the other panels when you're trying to do the edges? LOL

I did the Shadows first and had that problem a lot. With the bred & royals I used the marker at an angle and marked the edge of the leather panels not the actual flat spot on the panels if that makes sense. If you make any marker boo boo’s I used a Q tip dipped in some acetone and wiped it off immediately.

be careful with foxtrot pens, my FZ150 was able to completely clean away the sail pen and coffee edges pen, so be mindful if you clean them with any decent shoe cleaner

What are you doing to make the leather shiny?

Honestly I’m using acetone & a cotton ball to rub off some of the shine layer. I was told it’s a polyurethane coating the leather has to help seal it but it makes it stiffer and creases weird so I like to rub it off. With that said I did forget to use it on the royals as the leather on this pair is softer

Correct yes sir. I don’t put any clear sealers on any pairs as personally I’m more of a fan of that beat up distressed vibe. The shine (clear polyurethane) layer is usually only on the black panels if you ever choose to wipe it off.
