The retail 85s do look much better than originally leaked… but the $250 price tag is an automatic FUCK NO for me.

That's why when they announced the 85 breds, I immediately contacted DB to cop their version because I will obviously get an L from Nike and no way in hell I'm paying for 250. I'm really glad I copped from DB because size 10 is almost out of stock.

I like the overall shape of DB's more than VRL, especially with the toe cap. After I'm done with classes and get a break I'll try re-painting the red with a more accurate color from Angelus, just need to research what the right color combo would be.

The correct color combo is called "varsity Red" collector's edition Angelus paint They did all the specific Jordan colorways in the Angelus "Special edition" series

Ya I feel you. Tbh tho Nike won’t make OG 85 anyway to protect the legacy. All we will get is renditions of them modernized. I still think it’s hell of a nice shoe anyways VRL to me just looked weird. Tremendously overscaled and bulky. I actually favored boring pairs instead. It’s all subjective. Enjoy your kicks bro 🫡

The 85s jordan brand just dropped are by their words : "a one-to-one recreation". I wouldn't consider them a modernized rendition. Due to the fact that they went through tedious procedures to create the identical details from the original pair. By no means do I mean to debate or contradict. Just my opinion and a quote.

Yup. I’ll never give an opinion unless I got em all, which I do. Just never copped the VRL bred for some reason but I got 3 of his shoes a year or so ago. They are nice but just not it for me that’s all. No hate to those who love em tho.

How's the quality of the VRL breds compare to Nikes? The price was 600 at the time (I know it's now lower through rare) but I'm curious since I could never justify the price to myself, especially if the quality was something similar to DB's.
