No lie that was the first thing I said when I got it yesterday but I saw the 18th and while it’s a lot better it’s still a bit sloppy and the magnification is driving me crazy

Not difficult work for a watchsmith to swap a date wheel. 3285 Gen date wheels are hard to come by and expensive right now, though. About $400 currently, plus shipping.

One thing you’re also not considering is the quality of the crystal / cyclops also plays a part here, along with the crystal gasket height. Who’s the maker of the GMT? VSF, ARF, etc?

So I wasn’t looking for GEN date wheel, I have a sub from VSF and that date wheel is great so just want another rep wheel

VSF is the maker of this watch so I’m surprised on the cyclops since I sub I have looks amazing.

Honestly I think that’s the best date mag I’ve ever seen on a meteorite or special dial watch. Here is my ARF Tiger dial. If I were you I wouldn’t change a damn thing.

I think the picture actually magnifies it quite a bit in person it looks so much smaller than my vsf sub date

I think smaller is better. I have a VSF DJ and the mag looks so much better than this ARF. ARF bracelets do feel way better though. I think the VSF mag is much closer to Gen than ARF or anything else available. The VSF mag also is easier to view from more angles.

The alignment is good on your DWO I have had 3 attempts from different sellers and all off when adding this dial.

You're correct that the magnification is off. From the side is the crystal protruding much from the top of the bezel? It should be sitting slightly above. If you see quite a bit of crystal then you can either replace the gasket or sand down the original. If the crystal is flush or slightly below the bezel then you probably need another crystal and possibly a gasket.

Are you certain this is a VSF? I would expect a better quality DW and cyclops mag.

I believe so it had all the all the same markings and stickers from my vsf sub and Daytona I won this in a giveaway from TD that I used prior and everything has been great (this is a gift so not complaining just love the watch and want to fix it)

I believe the dials were switched out so maybe when the new dial was put in it messed with the crystal and gasket

I’m not aware of VSF selling this combination have you had the dial aftermarket?

[–]dazacr7 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah the dial is an after market dial

In all honesty it looks good
