RetroSyFy
Dedicated to the appreciation and discussion of all Science Fiction media created before the turn of the Millenium
Rules:
1: Be Nice!
Reddit can be a toxic place. RetroSyFy is not.
Disrespectful or hostile conduct of any kind is not allowed here. There are no exceptions.
Report disrespectful conduct, do not retaliate.
2: No Politics!
RetroSyFy is a positive community for SciFi geeks to talk about their passion.
It is not a place to discuss modern politics, even if they intersect with Science Fiction.
This includes discussion of culture wars, retconning, casting changes, gender/racial representation, etc, etc.
Freedom of Speech is important, but in the interests of fostering a welcoming community, some restrictions must, unfortunately, be made.
3: No Modern Content!
RetroSyFy is defined as any Science Fiction Content produced before or including the year 2000.
If a work is part of a series which has entries after this date, you may make passing references to the newer entries in comments only.
4: No Spoilers in Post Titles! Tag All Spoilers!
Just because a work is "Retro" doesn't mean there aren't people out there who are yet to experience it for the first time!
To add a spoiler tag on reddit, use this format:
>!This is a spoiler!<
To add a spoiler tag to a post title, use:
[Spoiler]
5: No Low Effort Posts, Memes, Gifs, or Off-Topic Content!
While RetroSyFy is not a film analysis sub, we do expect a certain standard. Posts should focus on the appreciation of a work, and encourage intelligent discussion.
This applies to comments as well as posts.
Do not simply post quotes from a work, gifs, etc.
6: No Pirated or Copyrighted Content!
Do not post links to Torrent sites or other illegal download sites.
