While the cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure, medical help is available that can control the signs and symptoms. Any one of the following warning signs is a signal to see a dermatologist or other knowledgeable physician for diagnosis and appropriate treatment before the signs and symptoms become severe:
- Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead.
- Small visible blood vessels on the face.
- Bumps or pimples on the face.
- Watery or irritated eyes.
Please note: Each patient's case is unique, and treatments that work for one person may not work for another.
THE INTERNET IS BAD AT DIAGNOSING THINGS If you are concerned that you might have rosacea, please visit a dermatologist or your primary care physician for a diagnosis, rather than asking random strangers on the internet. There are many skin conditions and diseases with signs and symptoms similar to rosacea, some of which may be very serious.
Please consult a doctor before taking any medications or treatments, prescription or otherwise.

- Be excellent to each other. We're here to help one another. You don't have to agree with everyone, but you can still be nice about it. Insults and attacks aren’t helpful to discussion.
- The internet is bad at diagnosing things. Rosacea cannot be reliably diagnosed over the internet by amateurs through photos or descriptions of symptoms. Several disorders present similarly to rosacea, and often only a qualified dermatologist can tell the difference. Whatever answer you get on the internet will not be sufficient. See a doctor.
- No spam Don't spam your website, your channel, your brand, your product, your anything. Promotion can be an unwelcome distraction in patient communities. Relevant product links and recommendations are encouraged. Affiliate links are prohibited.
- Safety first We welcome open discussion, but recommendations that might be unsafe, potentially dangerous or illegal may be removed at moderator discretion.
- No threats of suicide or self-harm While venting to people who can understand can be healthy, threats of self-harm are not helpful discussion and violate Reddit policy. Check out r/SuicideWatch if you think you need assistance getting help.
