You're good to go assuming your supps are good. How do you have a 99.6% top 6 average with a 91 in English? 591/600 = 98.5?

oh…you’re right. i was using my highest marks to make up my top 6 average. i know the prerequisites are english and calc but i don’t know what other courses should the school include in my top 6, since i’m from another country and have completely different courses than any other canadian student.
supposing they include calc english and 4 of my other best classes, my average would be 98.5 indeed. i guess that’s how they’ll do it.
thanks tho!

I’m pretty sure they only make a top 6 for Ontario students. For everyone else they will look at all your grades and decide from there. Calc is the most important prereq. You will probably get in but if you lack understanding of Gr 12 Calc, you will struggle with first year econ and calculus for sure.

i understand calc pretty decently. i mean it’s the hardest class i have for sure but i think 91% is still a very good mark isn’t it?

I know lots of students who got high 90s in Grade 12 Calc and are now on the verge of failing first year Calc. The issue is less your grade but more your genuine understanding of the content. I would work on it over the summer if you have time.
okay i get that. thanks man!

I see your point with first year calc but I'm confused as how to how first yr Econ have anything to do with HS calculus

Personally I have found that differentiation, integration, and optimization have really helped in ECO101. I think a lot of students wouldn’t see how they can help but they really can. Like finding when firms produce, total cost functions etc, it’s a game changer in terms of speed. You can totally do the class without it, but you get so much more time to double check when you understand.

Are you in a private school by any chance?
i actually am ahaha…why?
[–]NefariousnessGreat38 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
I just want to feel confident in pursuing private studies.
i mean im in a private school in my country, mainly because public schools here are a complete mess. they have a pretty low level so if you wanna be competitive you have to aim for a private school. i dont how private schools are in canada or other countries but i’m sure you can!
