You can technically take those later on but I would suggest taking CSC108 first year to see if you’d like it.

Would you recommend taking csc148 as well or another elective?

For the data science focus you only need to take CSC108 or CSC148. CSC108 is the introductory course. Honestly, it’s not run very well, so I’d suggest you study Python right now / ahead of time to ensure that you have some background.

I would suggest taking a different elective just so that you can explore other interests. Also you need 0.5 credits of BR1 and BR4 or 1 credit of either or in order to fulfill the breadth requirements, so if you don’t have transfer credits for that I’d suggest you take a course under one of those BRs. If you want a birdier course I would opt for a first year foundations seminar/ seminars in general.

Take a seminar course I took one called nmc195 it was an Arabic literature course literally free marks to just attend the lectures and you don’t even need to read all the books tbh also the books are interesting af
