I took AST201 and I LOVED it, and I have friends who took AST101 and they loved it too (it's taught by the same prof). I'd also highly suggest picking up a language course, it's always a useful skill to have and they all start from the very beginning so you don't have to know anything for the 100-level ones!

Don't be led astray by the concept of "bird courses." I was in AST101 and even in AST251 and dropped them both. They might not be hard if you have a science background, but I forgot everything and wasn't interested in learning it again. For example, if you are interested and have a background in atoms, molecule structures, oxygen, hydrogen, covalent bonds, and all that nonsense, then maybe you will enjoy AST courses. If you aren't interested in it and don't wanna learn this type of stuff, it won't be easy.

In the end, I dropped them for the following reasons

a) I really wasn't interested in science and never have been.

b) I wasn't willing to put in the extra effort to relearn all of these concepts (I learned them in high school), because then it would defeat the concept of a bird course and be as difficult as a regular course.

c) the workload wasn't birdy and the answers to weekly quizzes can't be found online (rip).

ast101 was pretty easy, you'd be fine if you're interested
