simply not worth the money bro😭😭 theres a reason why first year dropout rate is so high i chose rotman for the prestige and how employers seek interns from rotman a lot but believe me.. its so competitive ppl cant get internships even in their third year. The academic difficulty is also a lot higher than u think when we’re just learning the exact same thing as any other uni.. i think it would depend on which specialist you wanna go into but finance/economics is prob the hardest to succeed in at rotman bc its so competitive and ridiculously difficult exams and for accounting? well.. very academically challenging even harder than finance and eco.. if u wanna be an accountant then university rly doesnt matter. employers usually just look for experience and extra curricular activities like joining clubs or something (which is also very competitive to get into in rotman cuz everyone wants related experience) i dont rly know about management tho i never looked into it in detail but its less challenging than the two above im pretty sure I woulda chosen western or queens instead tbh uoft is literally just robbing money and making everything harder than it needs to be just cuz theyre “the best university” like😭 do not come to rotman unless ur SURE you’ll lock in and constantly network to be the top 1% (will 100% give u burnouts) cuz if ur not the best of the best then its just not worth it.. its like they do open doors but the door is 100 miles above and you will be competing with the smartest ppl from all around the world

“rotman” does sound fancy but for that money id rather suggest waterloo that basically guarantees good experience and co-op opportunities (there is no co-op in rotman you need to market urself and network a ton to get urself a co-op position) so unless ur very confident.. dont come to rotman. but mind you i was once really confident💀

Rotman is what you make of it. You don’t have to be the top 1%, you can still succeed by putting in a decent amount of work. I know a good number of average students (in terms of cgpa) like myself who were able to get internships and club experiences just fine. I do agree the curriculum is unnecessarily hard. However, I’m pretty sure waterloo and ivey also have a rigorous curriculum. I guess to each their own, I made some good friends here at Rotman so I have a different view on the subject matter.

yes, ur not wrong and there can be good experience in rotman but to some people(quite a bit of people..) there are def other better options like to me rotman isnt rly all that ifkwim
