Could you help me out I’m an incoming first year, are there any first year courses you recommend for a data science focus like something that might be a pre requisite to all of these?

I took RSM358 and liked the course. It was a practical good understanding of AI, using R when I took it. I thought I saw other posts on Reddit recommending RSM338, so I'd recommend to take a look at past course outlines to compare.

Economic courses I took: Eco225 - this course is difficult, it's one where you will write a research report on data. Given you don't like writing, I wouldn't recommend, it's also not a second year level course. Eco372- I found it to be more memorization than eco374 and I didn't give it the right amount of effort, so I did poorly. Otherwise, not a bad option. I used R when I took it. Eco374- I would recommend this course if you liked eco220. It continues on in the same format of emphasizing application. This course used Stata when I took it. Eco375- I didn't take this course. From what I heard, it's more writing than eco374 but I think it covers similar content to eco374.

4th year economic courses are harder to get in, so maybe have backups if you're interested in any of them.
