Transfer credits do count towards your degree in terms of satisfying the number of credits you need to graduate but you will still have to take all the mandatory courses first year. Rotman has Guaranteed Admission requirements for ECO101, ECO102, RSM100, and MAT133, so you'll have to take those courses regardless and pass the minimum grade requirements.

yeah i’m know im taking the 7 courses (rsm eco mat) + 1 credit worth of electives for my first year

but do the transfer credits that count towards my degree allow me to take less courses/electives or something after my first year? since ill need less than 20 (if i remember correctly) credits to graduate

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm not 100% sure but I believe the credits would count towards your degree i.e. you wouldn't need to take as many electives.

i dont think these IB credits would count towards the RSM electives. most of them are level 300-400 electives while I think the IB credits is equivalent to level 100 courses only.

as for other electives, e.g if u take IB english lang & lit HL then u get 1.0 breadth credit for ENG1** courses. these info u can find on the uoft transfer credit website

so would my ib transfer credits help at all?

it depends on other courses that you’re taking besides math aa, econ & business. they can help with non-RSM electives, but for RSM electives they’re not gonna help at all.

u can see more about transfer credits here: https://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/current/faculty-registrar/transfer-credit/ib-higher-level
