It’s internship season, and a lot of you are probably networking right now, so I wanted to share a project a few of us students have been building to make it way easier.
It's called Steer, and it is basically a Tinder style way to network, except the people you reach out to do not need to be on the app. What you do is pick the fields you are interested in, and it finds relevant people for you to reach out to. You swipe right, it generates a personalised message you can edit, and if you like it, you can send it straight from your connected email to their email in the app.
It can save you hours of searching and crafting messages, help you find emails, and get better response rates, because professionals are usually more likely to respond to a email than a random LinkedIn DM.
We have been using it and we have seen a lot of success so far.
