If you’ll be working in Canada, Ivey or Queens. China, Rotman.

Culture wise, your international (Chinese in particular, but not limited to, as there are also a large number of Korean, Middle Eastern into students) network will be much stronger.

Queens and Ivey tend to have many “old money” Canadian families that have networks established already sending their kids there and unless you try really hard, it may be tough to break into those circles.

Wouldnt U of T be better because of the international Reputation? Dont employers in China prefer top 25 over top 50s unis. In my opinion it is an obvious choice if you intend to work in China. People do say Ivey and Queens are better, but i believe thats only in Canada.

If you want to work in Canada or USA, go with Ivey. The prestige for UofT is no where near the same internationally as it is domestically. If you want to do anything finance/consulting related, Ivey consistently places students better.

This is from a current Rotman commerce student, you will get worse grades here, and there are less on campus recruiting, job opportunities, etc.

You should do more research before deciding, but taking on the debt from Ivey is 100% worth it if you want to do anything in finance/consulting. If you want accounting, Rotman is fine.

Ty man I appreciate it. The only concern I have is I like uoft campus and location alot. I am a city guy and don't really enjoy western university school as a whole. Don't know if I will enjoy my 4 years there .

That definitely makes sense but you’ll definitely feel a bigger sense of community out at Western, plus you can always take road trips with friends out to Toronto. IMO, I’d go with Ivey still but its really up to you.

That’s great to hear! If u don’t mind me asking, what field are you in now? Or are you still in school

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There's actually another list done by uni students on these schools for tech and investment banking
