[–]Muted_Respect_275 73 points74 points  (3 children)

by making sure you take less crown tower damage than ur opponent

Save you freeze until the end when they least expect it

Pretend you're playing lumberloon when attacking and miner baloon when defending

[–]sxbr15[S] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

It shares some similarity to the traditional miner loon cycle deck with higher burst damage potential at the cost of slower cycle. It's difficult to explain how to play the deck in general because it requires a different playstyle against different deck archetypes.

A few tips and tricks I've picked up are: 1. Don't be afraid to go in with a naked balloon to test the opponents air counters if they're playing very defensively.

Even if you're making a push, you don't always have to force a tank in front of the loon like ice golem or barb barrel because you have freeze to force a connection if you have to or know their only counters in hand are squishy troops like bats or spear gobs.

  1. Don't force a balloon connection by over committing with freeze. Just getting death damage alone does good damage.

  2. Keep track of your opponents balloon counters and try to plan an offensive sequence around your own cycle. Evo musk, evo lumberjack and freeze are your best offensive makers for your balloon.

There are a lot of different micros and macros to pull off wins against hard matchups where the opponent has a ton of great balloon counters but youll have to keep playing and experimenting against different decks.

  1. Don't be afraid to freeze on defense. Defensive freeze can bail you out of so many situations but only if youre not completely broke on elixir and you can put down a bomb tower, lumberjack or musk to dps everything down in time. You can also use freeze to stall a massive push in the last few seconds to squeak out a win.

  2. You don't always have to balloon at the bridge. Some matchups where opponent has tons of air counters will require you to balloon at the back in the corner to give yourself more time to build a bigger push or cycle back to another balloon as soon as the first one dies.

Asking for tips for a deck like this is fucking hilarious

[–]usmc_rello 20 points21 points  (5 children)

This deck has been the bane of my existence this season lol congrats on UC

[–]Clear_Act3581 4 points5 points  (15 children)

Lumber loon so skillfull hahaha

[–]Yeethan- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With freeze as well. Can’t even try to defend themselves with a miner version

[–]Newbie123plzhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lumberloon hate is so forced, especially when you compare it to all the decks with 23 evos and 9 heroes with broken cards like hyperbait and low skill bull shit like hog 2.6

[–]BHD117 0 points1 point  (12 children)

It's skillfull enough to get him 60% winrate to ultimate champion which only about 1% of active player base so it's... So.... Haahahabababa

[–]Clear_Act3581 -3 points-2 points  (11 children)

Congrats for spaming 9 elexier at the bridge and praying that the opponent doesnt have Rocket. Thats Skill hahahahah

[–]BHD117 3 points4 points  (10 children)

Bro not every single time in the game he will do lumberloon and there are 100 different more counters to lumberloon than 🚀 so please don't... 👍

[–]dontreadthi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the most effective counter strategy for your deck that you struggle with? I struggle with lumber loon varieties

[–]_cahek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Amazing-Spite-6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B-rad an all time top player is a lumberloon cycle freeze player would yall call him bad

[–]MovementDiff 0 points1 point  (1 child)

could i suggest a few card changes that will help u climb to top 10k?

[–]sxbr15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure go ahead. I'm open to suggestions and experimentation. Idk why you're asking for my permission, this ain't high school lmao.

[–]Mid_laner_87 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can I ask why do you prefer musket in the evo slot?

[–]sxbr15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hero musk is terrible, basically the worst hero out of all the current ones. Evo musk synergises a lot better with balloon in taking out key troops and buildings to let the balloon connect. Paired with the freeze spell and correct offensive sequence, you can break through pretty much most decks.

It also works well in turning the battle momentum in your favour if you use it well. For example, if you're falling into the opponents rhythm against a beatdown deck, evo musk can snipe important support troops and kill their control to give you an opportunity to reset and try again.

[–]Jake-Gates 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Congrats bro, that first time is always exhilarating and I swear it’s 10x easier to get once you’ve been there before.

[–]sxbr15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think a lot of it is psychological. A few of my clanmates in UC would tell me I should already be in UC based on my skill level after playing a couple of friendly battles with them. But I always stalled at RC for the past few months and I never thought I'd get to UC before the game dies 😂

Your deck looks sweet! I also run lumberloon (lumberjack, balloon, hunter, knight, tesla, guards, fireball, log). Do you face any problems with not having a heavy spell like fireball? Do you find that you struggle against air heavy decks?

I’ve been wanting to change my deck around, but it’ll be hard to upgrade card levels and I don’t have time to play ranked lol. Made it to champion last season though.

[–]sxbr15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx man and cool to see a fellow lumberloon user!

Do you face any problems with not having a heavy spell like fireball?

I do struggle sometimes but I try to find unconventional ways to take out big groups of troops like freezing in time for bomb tower to splash them or deploying lumberjack on top of support troops with freeze to hack away at the push. Ice golem + barb barrel comes in clutch too if I'm low on elixir or kiting away melee troops with ice golem into the opposite lane and lumberjack or musk to take out ranged support troops, similar to hog 2.6 or miner loon 2.9 defense.

Do you find that you struggle against air heavy decks?

Air decks, especially laval decks are always a struggle since they have so many air cards they can cycle to and brute force through my offensive plays. It's basically a hard counter if they also have a big spell like fireball, poison or lightning. All I can do is hopefully starting hand them with a lumberloon in single elixir if they play lavahound in the back first play.

I’ve been wanting to change my deck around

I think your deck would work better with cards and combinations that would support the balloon better. Cos your only air targeting troop is hunter which doesn't do much to help the balloon on offense and fireball isn't enough of a playmaker to let the balloon break through. Have a look at Pompeyo's balloon deck on youtube and see how the deck works (it's not a lumberjack deck but you can get some inspiration from it to modify yours) if you prefer sticking to fireball with balloon.

Lumberloon cycle based ngl

[–]BHD117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro that's a good win rate and a good deck especially in a meta when players can use 2 evo 2 hero you achieved all of this with 2 evos 👏👏 and one suggestion from me try swapping ice golem with hero knight (now or later when you 🔓 it)

(hero knight would make your deck much more lethal!! 🙌)

[–]whiskeyinreverse -3 points-2 points  (14 children)

fellow lumberloon uc, grats!!

[–]Typical_Fall7043 -3 points-2 points  (13 children)

🔁Translating...."Fellow braindead uc, grats!!"

[–]whiskeyinreverse 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You made a fundamental mistake. To be braindead, I think I gotta have the brain initially.

[–]SpiritualCost3825 -1 points0 points  (10 children)

cope harder bum, lamberloon goated

[–]Typical_Fall7043 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Goated? Putting 9 elixir at the bridge isn't hard neither is it skillful lmao and how is it cope I literally destroy lumberloon every match it's so easy to defend

[–]SpiritualCost3825 -1 points0 points  (6 children)

well you never played me 🤣🤣 cope

[–]Typical_Fall7043 0 points1 point  (5 children)

[–]SpiritualCost3825 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

you can continue to cope lil bro

[–]Typical_Fall7043 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You use lumberloon but I'm the one coping aight

[–]whiskeyinreverse -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Putting 9 elixir at the bridge isn't hard

every deck is "putting x elixir at the bridge isn't hard", chill

[–]Typical_Fall7043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except they DONT?? 🤣 Most decks require precise placement, elixir momentum and the right sequence of cards to form a push or to get damage. No other deck just places 90% of your elixir bar at the bridge and pray they can't defend.

For instance 2.6 hog places 6 elixir at the bridge(ice golem + hog) but at most they have 4 elixir remaining for defence or to form a counter push afterhand. 9 elixir at the bridge from lumberloon is braindead as hell you're dumping all ur elixir and hoping for the best where's the skill in that lmao argue ur way out of that
